The Walnut Tree Inn has teamed up with Midlands' leading agency, Funhouse Comedy, to bring us some of the UK's top comedians. Funhouse book acts you might have seen on TV shows such as Mock The Week and Michael McIntryre's Comedy Roadshow, as well the circuit's finest rising stars.

See below for some video samples.

Last Thursday of every month
8pm, £6 admission unless otherwise specified

Brian Damage and Krysstal
THURSDAY 25TH AUGUST

SUPPORT: Rob Riley, Lou Chawner
COMPÈRE: Alan Seaman

Brian & Krysstal are a unique comedy duo based in London. Blending music, deadpun comedy and silliness, they have been working together on the London Comedy Circuit for the last nine years.
They have headlined, supported and Mc'd at Comedy Clubs, Universities and Festivals not only around the UK but also in Germany, South Africa, Gozo, Spain, Denmark and Australia.

Patrick Monahan
THURSDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER

SUPPORT: Jason Patterson, Manos The Greek
COMPÈRE: Paul Jennings

EVERYONE knows someone who's a bit like Patrick Monahan. He's the guy at the wedding who flirts with the bridesmaids, tops up the aunties' glasses and breakdances to amuse the kids - a bit of a sweetheart. And that's what his comedy is like; something for everyone, all delivered with cheeky grin.

Patrick started off on the glamorous Irish/Iranian/Geordie stand-up circuit where he developed his chatty & friendly, story telling style.
Now a regular on the UK comedy circuit, playing venues such as the Comedy Store, Jongleurs, The Glee club to name just a few, Patrick has also performed in Europe and on the International comedy scene.

Monahan has appeared on many TV and radios shows

"He moves around the stage like a boxer working a ring, covering all angles and staying light on his feet. He is a walking advert for world harmony. Hearts will be broken, socks will be laughed off."
- The Scottish Herald

Gary Delaney
THURSDAY 28TH OCTOBER

SUPPORT: Annette Fagon, Matt Grantham
COMPÈRE: Simon Feilder

Gary Delaney is a razor sharp one-liner comedian, who is widely regarded as being the most quotable comic on the circuit. The high quantity of stand out gags leaves the audience struggling to remember them all.

Gary regularly plays all the big clubs including The Comedy Store, Jongleurs, Komedia, Glee, Rawhide, The Frog and Bucket, Hyena, Baby Blue, The Stand, Comedy Café, Lee Hurst's Backyard, Banana Cabaret and at clubs throughout the UK. Gary has appeared on Comedy Central's 'Comedy Blue', and Radio 4's Loose Ends.

Gary has written for Ivan Brackenbury's Hospital Radio Roadshow (nominated for the Perrier Award in 2007), Russell Howard’s Good News, Jason Manford's Comedy Rocks, and Radio 4’s The News Quiz. Gary also received two Sonys for his work for Kerrang! Radio.

"Unremittingly vicious comic Gary Delaney, master of the one-liner"
- The Scotsman

"Razor sharp one-liners"
- Daily Telegraph

Christian Riley
THURSDAY 25TH NOVEMBER

SUPPORT: Alan Hudson, Matt Seber
COMPÈRE: Ryan Gough

At the age of 15, Christian Reilly joined a band to get laid. The Salvation Army had different ideas…

As former integral part of the Perrier award-winning show Otis Lee Crenshaw and the Black Liars, with comic/songster Rich Hall, Christian's career has taken him around the world three times. On his way, he received accolades at international festivals and numerous network TV credits in the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Britain.

Now a solo stand-up performer and playing all the major comedy venues in his own right, Christian uses his dynamic guitar and vocal skills to target histrionic rock bands, musical theatre and morose indie musicians. He recently wrote and performed for 'That Was Then This Is Now' (BBC Radio 2) as musical counterpart to Richard Herring and Emma Kennedy, as well as giving his improvisation skills an outing on Radio 2's 'Jammin'.

Christian's comic songs, improvisations, sharp wit and youthful energy have delighted audiences wherever he performs. He was recently interviewed for the British Comedy Awards Magazine, and will be appearing in Edinburgh in 2006, performing in the ever-popular 'AAA' at the Pleasance Courtyard.

"His stand-up is witty and heaving with punchlines…will win over all but the hardest hearts and minds."
- Chortle

"This genuine, trendy, confident comedian has a natural talent for risky jokes, song and quips which you can't help laughing at! If you get the chance to see Reilly live, do so. He is not to be missed!" Funny.co.uk

Christmas Party Special

Simon Bligh
Alfie Moore
THURSDAY 16th DECEMBER

COMPÈRE:Colin Owens

SIMON: His mum wanted him to be a priest; he wanted to be a plumber. His dad was a mad Catholic Communist; he was a Kung Fu mad Buddhist. Growing up in Toxteth, his childhood was odd, but full of strange passions. Philosophy and Zen, leather trousers and motorbikes. Japan, unarmed combat and stand up comedy.

Ten years on, Simon is one of the finest, and most sought after performers in this country, and beyond. With a Time Out Comedy Award and Perrier Award nomination under his belt, his cheery, conversational manner and manic storytelling involve acute observations and he juxtaposes a cheery, affable conversational style with a wild, frenetic and fast-moving performance.

He has a string of TV credits to his name, most notably: - The Comedy Store (CH5), The Stand–Up Show (BBC), Not The Jack Docherty Show (CH5), Good Stuff Comedy (Carlton), Edinburgh Nights (BBC2), Saturday Live (ITV) and That’s Showbuisness (BBC1).

ALFIE:
Alfie Moore is one of the most original and distinctive acts on the comedy scene with his niche area as a serving police sergeant.  A versatile performer, who is equally at home in a crowded comedy club or a corporate function.  He is regularly opening larger comedy clubs and closing medium-sized venues, with many repeat bookings.

He came slightly later to comedy and brings a wealth of insights and comedy moments from his seventeen years on the beat, where a keen sense of humour has been key to his success and survival.

Alfie’s comedy debut was an impulsive last minute entry into a national stand up competition, where he finished runner up and was well and truly hooked. He subsequently served a whole new apprenticeship, honing his craft at comedy clubs all over the country and was then invited to become resident compere at the highly respected Otherside comedy clubs in the north of England.

Alfie has an observational comedic style, which lends itself to witty, and sometimes gritty, anecdotes based on everyday modern policing.
His engaging style enables Alfie to successfully get across serious points whilst making the audience laugh until they ache

“He’s a very funny man!”
- Rhod Gilbert

Doors open 7pm, Tickets £36.50 to include 3-course meal and dancing to D-Joe.
Magners Funhouse Comedy Club Christmas Special

Wes Saharuk
THURSDAY 23rd DECEMBER

SUPPORT: Dave Twentyman, Tony Cowards
COMPÈRE: Ray Green

This is definitely one of the zaniest shows on the market. If you like to laugh you won't want to miss this comic in action.

Wes Zaharuk brings new meaning to the word "funny." Using his off-beat sense of humour and wacky inventions he releases an unbridled hilarity using props such as vacuums, whips, and blowers. The only thing you can expect from Wes is the unexpected! A veteran of night clubs, concerts, and corporate functions, Wes wows audiences with his crazy antics and comical crusades. He has performed around the world and in Las Vegas. If you like laughter and off-the-wall excitement - you won't want to miss this dangerous mind in action.

Wes Zaharuk credits his comic roots to his parents. They made ‘not listening’ an Olympic event. As a child, his parents dressed him in wool pants that were incredibly itchy. Complain as he would, his words fell on deaf ears. When he developed a skin condition that looked like a large, all-dressed pizza, he was tested for allergies. It was found that he was allergic to wool. Through it all, Wes developed his desire to be heard — if only to reduce rash.

About the use of props in his performance Wes quips “Show business sometimes lures people who didn't get enough love early in life. I feel as a child I didn't get enough unsupervised time with power tools but who has perfect parents?”

"Twin Peaks meets Cirque du Soleil"
- The Toronto Sun

Admission £10
