MICHAEL SHAFAR is a touring comedian and headliner from Australia who now calls London home.
Since leaving a career in law for comedy, Michael has been working hard to win his Jewish mother’s forgiveness, and has (somewhat) achieved that, having performed around Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the US and on international waters.
You might also know him from his appearances on Network 10’s The Project and Studio 10, ABC’s Comedy Bites, triple j’s Good Az Friday, his 60+ million views online or his debut special A(LIVE) on Amazon Prime.
Alternatively, you might know him from what he does best: the live stand up shows he sells out across Australia, including Perth’s Fringe World, the Adelaide Fringe, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Sydney Comedy Festival.
In 2023 he’ll be touring his new show Well Worth the Chemo all around Australia so keep your eyes peeled for that!
“Shafar circumnavigates the line between edgy and offensive with beautiful finesse”

“A stand up comedian with raw Eddie Murphy confidence, cheek and super-polished style.”

“It takes a special kind of act to work on both sides of the Atlantic (as well as across Africa), but it seems an easy transition as he compels the crowd with his racial and socially insightful comedy. Every sentence he ends results in helpless laughter from the audience.”
