Established in 2005, our wedding venue has hosted many nuptials in Northamptonshire. Your big day not only matters to you but also to us. We want to ensure your big day will be a day to remember for all the right reasons. Exceptional food and first class wines and champagnes will go a long way to ensure this, as will our elegant surroundings and friendly, polite staff.
We’re also an approved venue for civil ceremonies and civil partnerships for up to 100 guests, so you can get married in our historic building, host the wedding breakfast there, party till the wee hours and stay over with some of your guests too – in short, we can deliver the perfect package in Northamptonshire.

PLANNING FOR YOUR BIG DAY
In the early days of your plans we will assist you in every way possible, so things run like clockwork prior to your wedding day. Then on the big day itself, our courteous and friendly staff and dedicated management team will ensure your guests feel at ease and enjoy the Inn and its facilities.
We can either guide you through the whole process or work with your wedding planner – the choice is yours.
That said we’ve catered for so many nuptials now, that our in-house team know a lot about the latest wedding trends, themes, colours and decorations. So, if you’d like a little help deciding on various aspects of your wedding, perhaps we can offer a suggestion or two of our own. They say many hands make light work!
A GRAND AFFAIR OR A SMALL, INTIMATE WEDDING
Our Ellington Suite can accommodate up to 85 guests for a silver service wedding breakfast or 120 if a buffet-style reception. It has its own separate entrance, toilets and bar, giving you total privacy on the day. However, if it is the second (third or fourth) time around for you or you simply don’t want a huge party, our private dining room might be more your taste. Either way, we can decorate the room in any style, to match your personalities and wedding colours.

This will help you estimate the cost of your wedding by allowing you to choose various options alongside your guest numbers (don’t forget to include yourselves), and including days of the week, options to enable discounts to be applied. The prices shown include VAT and are valid from 1 April 2025 till 31 March 2026. Please note that this is an estimate and should not be used as the basis of a quotation.

If you like what you see and we have availability for your big day, please call us on 01604 859551 to arrange a show round and a chat about your requirements. We will then hold your chosen date for seven days to allow you to check the registrar’s availability.
FRESHLY COOKED FOOD, SERVED WITH A SMILE
What we can guarantee, whatever size of wedding party, is that you’ll enjoy freshly cooked food, prepared on the day, using only the freshest possible ingredients, many sourced locally. All delivered to your guests by smartly dressed and polite waiting staff, who know how to make you and your guests feel at ease and the importance of a simple smile. We believe that exceptional food is one of the most important elements of a successful wedding day – after all, it tends to be what the guests remember and talk about for some time after.
BOOKING IS SIMPLE
Once we’ve discussed your requirements, The Walnut Tree Inn will provisionally hold the date you’ve requested for a maximum of two weeks. If you wish to hold the ceremony at the Walnut Tree, this should give you sufficient time to check the registrar’s availability. To confirm your booking, a £600 (non-refundable or transferable) deposit is required, along with a signed copy of our terms and conditions of business.
PLANNING SESSIONS
Six weeks before the wedding date, we will arrange an appointment to discuss final details and any other special requirements you may have. Two weeks before the happy day, we will need to complete the arrangements – these will include final numbers and any last minute details we, or you, will need to be aware of, along with final payment.
SPECIAL WEDDING PACKAGE
Our wedding package includes the following: a private room for your wedding breakfast and
a bedroom for the bride and groom on their wedding night including full English breakfast.

LET US ENTERTAIN YOU
At The Walnut Tree Inn, we have a full music license and are able to provide a wealth of musical talent, to suit your individual taste and needs. So whether it’s a classical guitarist, quartet or harpist, or a folk or Ceilidh band, or jazz or soul singer, we can point you in the right direction. There’s no need to worry about hiring expensive equipment either – we have our own state-of-the-art PA system, disco and lighting, and can even organise a professional DJ at very competitive rates.
